Sun exposure is the most common cause for skin cancer and the
risky for having skin cancer increases with factors such as age, thus,
according to the latest researches, people who are younger than 50 are the ones
who are more prone on having skin cancer than those who are older than 50 years
old. This has alarmed a lot of dermatologist across the world because they are
not sure on what is causing the cancer to young people. Thus, researches have
showed that a combined advanced processes as well as unprotected sun exposure
is not only the reason for having this type of cancer. Here are some of the
reasons why skin cancer is affecting young individuals.
·
The
use of tanning bed. Researchers have showed that women who are using tanning
beds are more frequently to have skin cancer compared to young men. Most salons
for tanning would use a bulb for their tanning beds which emits generous amount
of UV rays and radiation. UV rays are the main reason for having skin cancer
and it is even a part of the list for considered carcinogens or those products
which may cause cancer.
·
Too
much time spent on tanning. Data showed that about ninety percent of those
people who are diagnosed with skin cancer would occur on their neck and head.
Thus, this trend would suggest that patients who has skin cancer are those
people who are spending more time on outdoor tanning.
·
Intense
and intermittent exposure to the sun. This is the most common risk factor for
melanoma. Right now, researches have showed that short but intense exposure to
the sun such as having a tan during a vacation or spending weekends exposing
your skin to the sin without enough protection would be a contributing factor
on skin cancer especially for people who are less than forty years old.
·
Smoking.
The use of tobacco is also a known factor for developing skin cancer. Studies
have founded that the use of cigarette as well as pipe smoking would increase
the risk of a person for having skin cancer. According to most of the
researches, half of those people who are diagnosed with skin cancer are less
than forty and these people are chain smokers.
·
A
person who has a lesser ability to repair damage which is caused by the
exposure to the UV rays could also be a factor. Tanning beds and the rays of
the sun could emit UV light, you might not feel it but this will hit you skin
and will damage your DNAs but you body will be able to repair this damage but,
frequent exposure to UV light would eventually damage outpaces repair on your
skin.
